While I was working on my latest piece in this collection, I unexpectedly stumbled upon the perfect color palette. The background resembles molten lava, and it's absolutely mesmerizing. For a while, I wasn't sure what to paint on it. But then, I settled on a white common garter snake. I wanted the snake's skin to react with the surrounding environment so that all the gleams, reflections, and shadows from the lava would be visible on its scales. Adding the intricate details and patterns of the snake's scales took a lot of time and energy, but it was worth it. Overall, this painting took me almost a month to complete. I designed it so that it could be hung in any direction, and it would still be captivating.
