Artwork description:

Magical Sands was inspired by a trip to Death Valley, where we visited an area known as Artist's Palette. The minerals in the sand colour the dunes, creating a weird, alien landscape. It's beautiful.

This is reduction linocut print. This means I use one piece of Lino and carve into it, I then ink it up and print onto paper. I take the same piece of Lino and carve into it again and ink this up with a different colour ink and repeat the process. All I'm left with is a scrap of Lino and hopefully a completed image on the paper. Each print must be lined up exactly to create the image.

There are no second chances with this process so the editions are usually small. A true limited edition.

These prints are all hand printed, no computers involved. As such there may be very slight variations between each print.

I use hand torn printmakers paper, as is traditional, and artist quality oil based relief inks.

Every print comes backed by card, with a certificate of authenticity, and an explanation of the process. It is then wrapped in cellophane and packaged in a hard backed envelope, to keep it flat.

The postage and packaging fees are for up to 2 prints. If you purchase more than 2 prints I will package them together, where possible and refund excess postage costs.

For the U.K. I ship Royal Mail 1st class tracked or Special Delivery depending on the value of the package.
International orders are shipped Royal Mail International tracked.

Outside the U.K. and USA local customs/duty may be incurred. These are the responsibility of the customer and outside my control.

Materials used:

Ink, Lino, rollers, press, cutting tools
