“Magic of the Melancholy” is an expressive monochrome abstract seascape oil painting 50 x 50cm (20 x 20 inches) on a 4cm (1.5 inch) deep canvas. Inspired by the view of the sea in Hastings when the contrast in the light made the day seem black and white. It’s titled from the song “The Heart of Saturday Night” by Tom Waits

It's painted in shades of black and white. The paint is layered and blended and heavily textured in parts. The painting continues around the sides of the artwork and it is signed on the back. It’s ready to hang and comes with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.
