Original artwork description:

Magic of the heath
Late Autumn,
A festival of colour,
The scent of the pines, bracken and grasses,
Yellow gorse, russet, plum and amber in the silver birches,
A sheltered haven of natural beauty, that I love.

Words and feelings of a place between Bushy park and Hartland moor that I can escape to within Britains largest lowland nature reserve, Dorset.
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425 gsm 200 lb.
Many techniques were used to create this watercolour the background was wet on wet, pressing the paint on using my filbert brush. Chinese brush I used to drag the paint for the trees and grasses. Bushy mop squirrel hair brush for the pine trees.
My inspiration was on a walk along the sandy trail trying to stay protected from the wind in mid November and it was a new discovery at sunset time nearly the sky lit up in amongst the howling wind. I will definitely go back there in the New year.

Materials used:

Extra rough textured watercolour paper acid free bockingford 425 gsm 200 lb, Chinese brushes, filbert brush, Chinese hake, Windsor and Newton watercolours,
