I wanted to paint this picture at the beginning of winter when the snow in the city was still white and fluffy. The mood was also appropriate.
And in this picture, there was just a beautiful dark red house wrapped in snow.
And for some reason, she reminded me of Norway. Although I have never been to this country, my friend who lives there talks very interestingly about Norway, and she sends me such beautiful photos. They often paint their houses in dark red.
But then I took a break, went out for a walk and saw the festive lighting in the city. We start early to prepare for the New Year. This holiday is probably the most beloved and funniest in Russia.
And I decided to make the picture not winter, but festive, New Year.
I added lilac darkness, "put" a Christmas tree with glass balls, placed bright bulbs on the house's facade. And immediately, there was a feeling of the New Year.
For many countries, the favourite holiday is not the New Year, but Christmas. But the mood of these two holidays is similar.
This painting can be a gift for both New Year and Christmas.
And to add a festive sparkle to her, I decorated the picture with pieces of silver leaf.
Unfortunately, the photograph does not convey the glitter of the silver leaf very well. In reality, it gleams very delicately, especially under artificial lighting.

What is convenient in this picture is that it is small and very light. It can be hung on the wall during the holidays and then removed like Christmas tree decorations. Until next winter. Or you can leave it alone if it is in tune with your interior and mood.
