This flower was painted from life at the artist's home studio. It features a close-up view of an orchid flower in a classic magenta color with white edges on the petals and a white center. Both brush and palette knife have been used to created the surface texture of the petals. The background was created with a 3-step process of masking the flower, creating the dripping and splashing effects in the background with casein paint, and finishing the surface with oil glazes, and features variegated shades of green. This piece is framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a black finish and is ready to hang. May be purchased unframed by request. Small enough to fit in any space, or makes a great accent for a larger piece.
