Taken a couple of hours after sunrise, Machu Picchu has emerged from both the clouds and the shadows. This iconic scene is difficult to capture in the harshest light I have ever encountered. The contrast was extreme and trying to balance the highlights in the clouds and the reflected light from the terraces and the stonework with the darker mountainside and distant trees was very challenging. This is the original (A3) edition.
