I performed “Macbeth,” one of the best-known and most quoted Shakespearean tragedies, the operatic version of which was set to music by Giuseppe Verdi. The painting, which is also a tribute to the great conductor Riccardo Muti, offers subtle but dense brushstrokes and rich pictorial matter in which deep human emotions vibrate, exploring the lights and shadows of the psyche. Done in oil, it is an expressionist journey into the human condition: each brushstroke is imbued with pathos, illustrating inner conflict and drama. The vigorous realism of the subjects contrasts with the expressiveness of the colors and their emotional tension. The vehemence of the vivid, saturated colors infuse power and extraordinary energy into the scene, where the atmosphere of lightning and thunder also takes shape, framing a gloomy early medieval Scotland. This painting will bring an energy of reflection and deep visual narrative to the domestic environment.
