Layers of glazes and gold underlie the final coats of pale blue oil. A strip back process has been used to reveal glimpses of what was before and I love the way this represents us as human beings. We are built through sheaths and sheaths of experience and thoughts and we can choose which to expose or which to keep hidden. I've chosen to reveal a flash of the gold which covers the whole base and this represents the purest part of ourselves, which is why it is the whole base, even though you can't see it in its entirety: I fundamentally believe in the goodness of human beings at our core.
