Original artwork description:

I was really chuffed to photograph this squirrel - my success rate on photographing moving animals had been minimal prior to this particular day, but whilst walking alongside the river in Bedford, I managed to photograph not one, but two squirrels before they ran away! Aside from the fact that the squirrel looked quite sweet, being able to capture the image was reason enough to paint this picture!

I enjoyed painting the various textures in this piece, especially the roughness of the tree bark against the fur of the squirrel, and the leafy canopy of the tree provided a colourful backdrop.

Materials used:

Acrylic
