Original artwork description:

As an artist, I believe it is your duty to explore different styles, different ways of creating and painting. This piece is from my early days of being a [full time] artist and I started experimenting with ink and sandpaper on wood to create the monochromes, the underpainting. I then slowly added colour in layers using egg tempera, which I then attacked with sandpaper again to ensure the image would keep its beautiful matt feel.

This painting is framed in a hardwood frame using gallery glass. Ready to hang.

Materials used:

Indian ink, sandpaper and egg tempera on gessoed wood
