The sandy beach at St. Ives at low tide is a lovely place and full of interest. In this painting I have concentrated on the stern of one of the fishing boats with all the detail of rusty chain, seaweed and rudder. Then a distant view of the town and the church tower between the boats below a blue sky. In this oil painting I have tried to give a feeling of the place. The frame is an important part of this picture and is a subtle ivory colour painted wood.
