In 2018 the editors of ArtFinder tipped me for the top as one to watch and invest in, picked from thousands of outstanding artists.

I was sitting on the beach while my dogs were running around as we do most mornings. We had just had a storm over the last couple of days, and the beaches had been empty but this morning it was beautiful sunshine, and a young couple was playing in the water obviously very much in love. He picked her up and put her over his shoulder and that moment froze for me I thought that would make great a lovers painting.

About the Lovers, they all come from my imagination, my feelings my memories, some good some not so good but I try to focus on the good ones, a dance I remember, a hug after a long time apart or to hold someone very dear to me.

I love it that I can be bold and experiment with the colours the form the mannerism and be free of all inhibitions, I want them to look comfortable with lots of pleasing curves, ageless, of indeterminate origin or nationality, but above all at ease with themselves.

I have sent my work to over 31 countries and to some great landmarks such as Berkeley Square in London’s Mayfair, 5th Ave New York, Malibu beach in California and from Washington to LA, Hong Kong, Monaco, Monte Carlo and Singapore, in fact one of my
best collectors are in Amsterdam which is not short of great artist or galleries, I’m very proud of that.

Blanc a New York-based magazine wrote an article about me in the November issue; it went on to say Ta has a special interest in character development and portraying “a little of the night…coming from my dreams and imagination.” This combined with her passion for colour psychology draws the viewer in and leaves them there, whether Ta is using oil on canvas, charcoal and pastels, watercolours, acrylic on wood or pencil.

To say that Ta is a versatile artist is an understatement—creating modern, contemporary, and folk art that includes portraiture and figure drawing in its vast subject matter and explores periods of Impressionism, Expressionism, and Cubism with influences from Botticelli to Lowry and Magritte.

Ta Thimkaeo: full-time independent Thai artist, creating large and small unique colourful
works.
