Original artwork description:

Dark clouds on the horizon...one can almost hear the thunder. On the edge of a cliff, a mysterious monastery is perilously built with a giant cross on top of it overooking the tumultuous sea. Down below, at the beach, a huge number of half naked women carelessly bathing under the clouds. It's almost as if they're ignoring the menace. The women all wear yellow smiley faces instead of human heads - they seem depersonalized - like a bland definition.

"I wanted to depict the oppression of religion as I had perceived it at that time" says the artist. He goes on to explain: "I had just been to a wedding of one of my cousins and the priest literally said <> . I just felt it was too much and wanted to paint that feeling of depersonalization."

The canvas was created in 2010 at the start of the project which the artist has baptized: "Memory Empty".
