This was one of the last paintings I completed for my January 2016's "30 Paintings in 30 Days" challenge. I had felt challenged by the texture and simplicity of the original work and decided it needed something to help make it "pop" a bit more, so went digging around in my inspiration corner of my studio. Underneath my drawing table is a drawer of half-finished works on paper; sketches; bits & pieces for collages, etc. -- sometimes a treasure chest; other times a Pandora's box of unfinished creations begging for attention. I found a small collage I had created awhile back with some Gelli prints and found objects. I cut it to size and added some musical script - and BAM! "Love Notes" was born - just in time for Valentine's Day.
