But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.' - Galatians 5:22-23
'Love' is an abstract expressivist painting, rendered in oils. There is an intention to demonstrate motion by the blurring of the indistinct shapes, moving across the canvas in a serene sweeping movement, forming a choreography of the various colour elements. This is to denote the whirlwind, rousing feeling of love but is carefully tempered by the joyful palette, so as not to make the viewer feel hurried but rather uplifted. This work is carefully synchronised to the paintings 'Joy' and 'Peace' as these three are so closely linked, although all of the fruits of the spirit have a synchronicity.
