I like history, it fascinates me to learn how people lived long ago. I imagine it's more peaceful than today's hustle and bustle.
The paintings Love and solitude are a trip of my imagination to the past, to a Renaissance manor house, where the couple freely indulges in the unrestrained enjoyment of erotic pleasures.
The woman on the balcony does not get these pleasures and she certainly feels a little lonely. But her pose reflects the hope of waiting for the arrival of a loved one.
This is the case even today. In some moments of life we have a partner and love, in others only solitude. In such moments, we should maintain optimism and hope.
That's what I wanted to express with this painting...
