I bought my first pair of wingtip shoes when I was 16 years old. It was an oddly glorious day, and the first indicator that I enjoyed fashion and looking sharp. Wingtips were always considered an "old man's" shoe, but I begged to differ. You can't live by the norms or else you aren't living for yourself. I wore those wingtips until the soles wore out...not knowing, as a teenager, that I could actually get them re-soled, they withered away to history.
My sense of humor is both irreverent and confusing. Some of the things that pop into my head crack me up, but make no sense whatsoever. When painting the view looking down at my shoes, the phrase "Loose Lips Sink Ships" but it seemed more appropriate, in my mind, that pants were more this issue here. As I said, confusing humor!
