The legendary bar designed by Adolf Loos has been around for over 100 years and remains as popular today as ever.
The Loosbar is packed every evening. It's almost impossible to make your way through. At 27 square meters, it is the smallest bar in Vienna. An interesting mix of guests has met here for the past 110 years. From hipster to lawyer, from celebrity to janitor, everyone loves the American Bar designed by Adolf Loos. Everyone is amazed by how many people the place can hold. And that includes glass.
The then controversial architect and artist Adolf Loos marked the beginning of architectural modernism in Vienna. After an extended stay in America, he designed this now heritage-listed bar in 1908. With the Loos Bar, he presented a ground-breaking concept that has shaped countless American bars. With wood, glass, brass and onyx he created a unique ambience. Countless mirrors make the room appear larger. One shouldn't be afraid of contact here; the desire for privacy is also out of place here. But nobody comes for that. The Loos bar is simply cult.
