Original artwork description:

"In this incomprehensible landscape, only the sea is horizontal, and everything that is dry land is almost perpendicular"
Astolphe de Custine, nineteenth century writer and traveller, described Positano with these words. Since his visit, the painterly village hasn't changed that much. The coloured houses, stubbornly clinging to the mountain, continue to look to the sea and Santa Maria Assunta church dominantes over the bay with its beautiful majolica dome, which shines in the sun in thousand greens and turquoise reflexions. Here and there are revealed little and unexpected gardens, shaded by fragrant pérgolas of jasmines and citrus fruits. Between the alleys of the village enless stairs climb, but the fatigues of the body are rewarded at every step with the beauty that this unique place offers to the eyes and the spirit of its visitors.
