This abstract landscape began as a collage of painted pieces that were mounted on canvas and then over-painted in oils. The theme comes from Psalm 121: “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” We look to the Lord alone for all of our needs: not to ourselves or others, not to fame, money or status. Only God can supply all of our needs. The scene itself came from a family vacation to Blue Ridge, Georgia, which was our first mountain experience. The palette is cool: blue, greens and purple, and the painting has been given a satin varnish for protection. Hanging hardware is already installed.
