I made this print after the poem written by Jim Mainland, reproduced below:
Look!
Sometimes you think you’ll never see the end
of a smothering darkness; one that grips
darker and deeper than you’d ever expect,
thick clouds overhead, bowing you down again.
I was all set to give up, wondering,
fearfully, foolishly, if this thing might swallow
me up, when suddenly I saw it – just a glimmer:
first the little blue flame, then the yellow.
