Original artwork description:

For the pleasure and fun of the hobby painting, figurative genre is another work of fine art which I like. The human figure has been one of the constant subjects of art since the first stone age cave paintings, and has been reinterpreted in various styles throughout history. My usual subjects are beautiful women, whether clothed or nude. The nude is an ideal theme for oil painting media with its permisive mixing and corection characteristics even it is a slow drying. I can play with different blending and layering techniques with a result of various surface degrees of viscosity. Enabling to achieve rich or subtle blends of color and texture. Although working from live models is preferred, the length of time needed to complete a painting has led painters to use photographs as references at least part of the time if not for the entire work. In my figurative paintings I used both brushes and knifes and sometime fingers too. The results are fascinating me everytime. This painting is one of those examples.
