I have really enjoyed painting this one and it may seem strange but i'm almost sad to see it completed. You could possibly say this one has been a labour of love. I'm extremely pleased with it and hope to do a few more like it, but perhaps smaller.
I've used a photo of London Charing Cross station from a bus driving along the strand. This is just behind Trafalgar square. My Plein Air painting has been helping me to inform my studio work.
There are a number of timelapse films of me creating this piece. And give an idea of the work that has gone into it.
In terms of my application of oil colour, I predominantly use a mixture of both Winsor & Newton Griffin Alkyd and Melanie Cambridge Oils. If a higher pigment is still required I use Michael Harding Oils. I apply between 3-7 layers of oil colour to my work dependent on complexity.
Much care and attention is taken in packaging my work for both national and international delivery. This item will be packaged firstly with an acid-free tissue paper to ensure a protective layer and is then sealed in clear plastic cellophane. All corners are protected with cardboard corner protectors. It is then finished with a triple wrapping of bubble wrap with two cardboard sheets on either side and placed into another cardboard covering. Its a large painting and hand delivery could be an option if you are London or Local. Just ask.
Photo in context is an estimation of size and scale and colouring varies from Computer to computer. But It is as vibrant as the picture depicts.
