Expressionist charcoal drawing of houses in a London suburb - on quality A5 paper directly done outdoors as the expressionists of old. - - - Mostly I sketch, draw and paint directly from nature, in front of a model or object - keeping this practice feeds into my work as a sculptor, printmaker and conceptual artist. Charcoal is a great medium for the expressionist - it breathes so much authenticity, holding it in your hands you will feel its preciousness.
