Original artwork description:

I painted this during the height of the pandemic lockdown. But did not want to upload it as it depicted the pain of being shut down in one's home. Now that the lockdowns have gone away and the fear of the scourge is fairly behind us, I decided to upload the artwork. This is a reminder of how lives can change all of a sudden everywhere when all humans feel the same panic and helplessness across the borders! The world became one to fight the scourge in captive conditions! Sadly many lives were lost, like in a war, but we fought back and survived. A period that will be etched in the history mankind.

Being able to connect with friends and family via the internet, a real boon to mankind in times such as these, was the only escape from the drudgery of being confined to our homes! I can not imagine what the situation would have been if not for this. The majority of us would have plunged into depression. Like those innocent animals kept in cages/confinement for years on end without any recourse to freedom? Without a voice to express their anguish? Without being able to connect with their family or their own?

Pandemic taught us so many lessons, one of them is to be in the frayed shoes of the captive animals. Animals are enslaved and manipulated for the humans' lust for money.
I hope and pray for all those captive lives to see the light of sweet freedom soon.
