Llyn is another from my circular spin series. I am experimenting with different ratio of ‘background’ and ‘spin’ and also using different colour combinations. I love these pieces for lots of reasons. One being that they look great as a solo piece and also in a collection with others from the series.

Secondly, they don’t need to be framed and look great on their own. But they also look great framed individually or as a collection inside one frame. Having a diameter of 50cm means that they can fit in most spaces.

Thirdly, I love that each piece is unique. Creating another exactly the same would be very difficult. So you know that you have a one of a kind painting – no prints are made either.

Llyn has a background created using different blues and greys. The shapes and patterns created are fairly intricate, meaning there is lots to look at. The spin layer of Llyn is fairly large. I used a manganese blue, with some purple and pink for this section. It is unusual for me to use a small number of colours in each piece. I love blue and feel the pink and purple finish the piece nicely.
