Original artwork description:

What is more essential to life than water? Who can live without it? No one! The woman at the well, whom we meet in John 4:10, had searched fruitlessly for the love she needed, but her search had left her empty, dry, ostracized and alone. We can relate. Human love is often fleeting and conditional, more about taking and using than about what love should be. We look for what we need in wealth, position, beauty, status, worldly excesses--you name it--it all leaves us empty. But look at the transformation that happens in her life when she finally receives the Living Water that Jesus offers her. She abandons her jug by the well and runs to tell others—the very townspeople whom she had been avoiding—because she’s now so full of grace that she wants others to experience this joy, too. I offer this painting as a visual reminder, so that every time you see it, your mind, heart and soul will say, “Thank you!” for the Living Water that has transformed your life.

Materials used:

acrylic and oil on canvas
