Bajau tribe stilt house.
Celebes Sea, 2023

For more than 10 years, I’ve been documenting communities who live on the water.
After years of research, I finally managed to travel to the region and photograph the elusive Bajau Laut tribe (sea gypsies) who live in stilt houses precariously built on shallow reefs around the Celebes and Sulu seas.
Some intriguing facts about the Bajau; they are not recognised by any country; they don't have access to education or health care; they mainly drink coconut water or the sporadic rainwater; when dive-fishing, they can hold their breath underwater for more than 10 minutes.
