Original artwork description:

When I started this painting, I was interested in the image of the Girl that was materializing, bit by bit.... As soon as I had an idea of who she was, I found the story.... I began this work during a week of reflection, reminiscing.... I spent time thinking about my early years, my childhood; a simpler time in this world. The background of this painting represents that. It is a melange of details, from the old Cradle Style Telephone, to the Vintage Tea Set, that recall my Grandparents', home, and the homes I grew up in... The Girl, or subject, is a nod to some of the Books I had as a child, and the Illustrators that influenced me from an early age.... The Palette in Basically Black and Blue, symbolizes the "bruising" we have all endured over the course of our lives, that has fed into who we become.... "Little Girl Blue" is also loosely based on one of my favorite Portraits by Modigliani...
