As I am revving up for my return to France for awhile, I am already seeing the sights, smelling the aromas, and dwelling on the Cote d'Azur's "isms", that make it such a treat of a place to reside.... The "Vieux Ville" of Menton; where twisted, narrow streets place you in such close proximity to your neighbors, that you learn their habitudes... Laundry hung out to dry is a daily Aesthetic detail.... Menton still retains a feel of being more Italy than France, and the sparsely furnished interiors reflect that old Fashioned style of home. On the shelves, is collected just the basics; Olive Oil, Suger, and a few dishes... It would seem that several birds have flown in by the window, no doubt attracted by their "Cagey" friend... We sense the character of the person who resides here, as we have the impression he/ she has just stepped out of the "frame".... This painting is finished around the edges, so can be suitably hung without framing...
