Artwork description:

I noticed a roosting pocket hanging from a tree in someone’s front garden. It had been filled with natural fibres and I saw a Great Tit land on it and pluck some of the material out. Clearly it was building a nest. I had to capture this sight in Linocut form.

The design is made with three printing plates. Plate one is for the green and yellow ink, the second is the light brown and the final plate is inked up in black. The ink used is specialist printmaking ink and I have used acid free Canson 180gsm cartridge paper.

The colours, textures and registration at the edge of any handmade print vary which makes each one unique. I have tried to capture the true colours in the photo but there might be a slight variation.

I have made an edition of 95 of this design. The image size is 21 x 15 cm and there is a margin of 3-4 cm around the edge to allow for framing. All the Linocuts are numbered and signed.

I will package the linocut in a reinforced envelopes and the artwork will posted flat not rolled.

Materials used:

Archival ink
