Artwork description:

This Linocut was inspired by two things. One was the amazing shadows that I saw in the snow cast by the stumps of some pruned rose bushes. The second was the amount of Blue Tits that visit our garden seeking the food that we leave out.
This print is made by hand from a limited edition of 45. I carved the image out of two pieces of Lino. The first one which showed the shadows, was inked up with blue ink. When this was dry, the black design was over printed. The texture of the print varies where this over printing occurs and the white areas have a slightly embossed look. This adds to the charm of the hand pulled image. The birds were hand coloured with a water based paint. It is printed on high quality acid free Fabriano paper and each print is signed and numbered. The image size is 21 X 14.5 cm and there is a small border of 2 cm around the edge to allow for framing. I have done my best to capture the colours as accurately as possible but they might vary slightly.
I will package the print flat in a cello bag and post in a reinforced envelope.
