Water lily, nymphaea or water lily (lat. Nymphaéa), aquatic plants from the water lily family (lat. Nymphaeaceae) with leaves and flowers floating on the surface. The genus of the nymphaeum includes about fifty species. This surface plant is almost the most famous, thanks to its large, floating, heart-shaped rounded leaves and, in particular, large beautiful flowers of regular shape. Sometimes a water lily is mistakenly called a “small egg” - another aquatic plant with narrow yellow flowers raised above the water.
The largest of the water lilies is the royal nymphaeum or Victoria regia, originally from the Amazon, perhaps the most popular and legendary of greenhouse plants. On its leaves, even on a boat, even a person can stay.
