Since I was a kid, growing up in Queens, NY in the 1960's, I have loved LILACS. We had beautiful lilacs growing in our yard. My sister and I would rush home from school and run to the LILACS and plunge our faces into the luscious blooms. They were cool, damp and so fragrant!
Today, I am nurturing my lilacs I planted a few years ago. Waiting, waiting, for the blooms!
I used many shades of violet, lavender and blues to recreate those sensual flowers.
acrylic paint, stretched canvas. gesso, brushes
