I painted this original oil on-site at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum on Lilac Hill. It depicts two lilac bushes glowing in the afternoon sun. These lilacs have a wispy quality with small blossoms and leaves and delicate, thin branches. There was also a yellow butterfly flitting around who made it into the picture. The rich, deep blue of the sky and dark green pine trees in the background provide contrast to the soft lavender blossoms. This painting measures 16x20". The total size with frame is 20x24". Shown in the photo is a wood frame with a gold finish and a black inner edge. It is called a "floater" frame because the inner edge does not cover the picture. It may also be purchased without a frame.
