The lilac breasted roller bird , found in Africa is a chunky, large-headed bird with a lilac breast, rusty cheeks, and spring-green crown. It has an amazing display flight which includes side-to-side rolling, which gives rollers their name. Mostly quiet, but sometimes calls a loud guttural “gwhaaak, gwhaaak”.

This portrait has been drawn using only the very highest quality soft pastels and pastel pencils.

The portrait has been drawn on pastelmat and measures 25cms x 35cms.
