Artwork description:

Lighthouses are promising freedom and safety, they are landmarks and symbols... Reason enough for me to start a series with linocutprints. As the black-and-white versions were ok but did not satisfy me I tried to add some color with watercolors. A challenging task as the absorbing Japanpaper is not really good for watercolors and the waterbased color I use for the print is easily washed out, mixes with the color and transforms everything into a sad grey...
Here is one of my lighthouses, the small lighthouse at the entrance of Bremerhaven's Vorhafen with the Atlantic Hotel in ten background.
It comes rolled safely in a tube.
