An iconic view on the north east coast, St Mary’s Lighthouse stands proudly on a promontory off the coast at Whitley Bay. Painted on site on a bitterly cold day in late Autumn, I used expressive marks to quickly depict the scene before freezing hands and lowering light called a halt. I was particularly attracted to the soft purple sky on the horizon, and a general feel of winter coming soon.
This work is presented double mounted ready for framing. It will be dispatched cello wrapped and carefully packaged in an appropriate strong cardboard box and sent via a tracked courier.
A certificate of authenticity will be provided.
