Original artwork description:

This is an image of a lighthouse, inspired by photos of my friends who live in coastal towns. These include Norway, Sweden and Russia. But I used a lighthouse in Maine as my base. I was fascinated by the Victorian buildings near the lighthouse.
And I took the cliffs from a picture of Norway.
The picture shows winter cliffs surrounded by the sea. There is snow on the rocks, which contrasts with the dark water. There is a lighthouse in the middle of the picture, its light pointing the way to the ships ploughing the sea.
Next to the lighthouse are white houses with tiled roofs. They look cosy and warm, contrasting with the cold sea and sky.
