Original artwork description:

The painting is a seascape depicting a famous view of the Sardinian coast and one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Mediterranean: the sea of Stintino with the islet of La Pelosa tower and, in the background, the island Piana and Asinara, seen from the beach in front.
I know this place well, even though I have been away for many years.
Often, to escape the crowds that flocked to the coast, I would cross the short stretch of sea that separated the small beach of La Pelosetta from the islet and enjoy the scenery in perfect solitude. The water was knee-deep, but the seabed in that stretch was very rocky and this was enough to discourage the crowds. In summer, the islet was dotted with the pink flowers of wild garlic and the shade cast by the tower offered shelter from the dazzling summer sun, while the breeze that channeled through the strait of Asinara enveloped me, entwining itself with my hair.
In the image I have chosen to reproduce, however, there is no trace of the warm summer light and even though the sky is barely veiled with clouds, there is a stormy air on the horizon.
The tones are mostly cold and include shades of blue, gray and violet.

Original painting with acrylic paint on cotton canvas.

Measures: 46×27 cm / 18.11×10.62 in

The painting is not framed, but can be hung on the wall even without a frame because the sides of the canvas have been painted.

The artwork is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Materials used:

Acrylic colours on cotton canvas and one layer of protecting varnish
