Original artwork description:

Painting in oil combined with charcoal of an intimate couple. The image is drawn over stains of oil paint on paper and slowly built. I explore light and colour so that unexpected forms and textures arise. New decisions arise from here.

It is a conscious process, but coincidence certainly plays a role. It remains a 'restless', busy image for a long time, but in the end I often paint a few more smooth, even surfaces in it, so that the image comes to rest again and the background sometimes slides a bit over the foreground.
