Original artwork description:

Lifting of dawn
Dark,
All consuming,
Clouds of the night,
Disperse,
As the sand colours appear,
Like a beach.

Words and feelings of my experience of waking up early recently and seeing this magnificent sky of the breaking dawn over the ancient woodland of Wincombe from my kitchen window.

I used a wet in wet technique and a wave technique to create the movement and energy through the landscape of the border of North Dorset to Wiltshire. Many years ago there was settlements and battles. Now it’s left as beautiful old woods which look amazing particularly at dawn.

Materials used:

Rough textured watercolour paper acid free Bockingford,Holbein watercolour paints,Hogs hair brush,Sable haired brush pointed, water,
