This painting has had many iterations and only resolved itself when I painted all over it and then used a wet sponge to remove paint to reveal areas of detail below. To me these look exquisite. When finished the title jumped out. After spending thousands of hours looking down at invertebrates and other aquatic species maybe this is what Life on Mars would look like, lots of metallic shiny colours and blue pigments instead of the more familiar green pigments in plants on Earth.
It is a painting that deserves close attention to the details, so would look best somewhere where the viewer can get up close. It is ready to hang.
