Original artwork description:

This painting uses material drawn from the landscape I have walked upon and visited within the county of Somerset, England. The painting uses Bideford Black mineral found near the town of Bideford in Devon and a little Indian ink to bring about an aspect of drawing.

This painting/ drawing is made through the postcard being immersed in collected water, in this case seawater collect from Watchet and rainwater collected from Taunton. The painting brings together three various areas together into one image, whilst producing an image from a cycle through the Somerset Levels.

In some ways the painting/ drawing explores the various ways we can bring different elements together and through memory and intervention something new can be born from the process and form an image inspired by the journeys we make in life.

[Note: The image presented is not sold framed. A frame can be produced for the image. If you require a frame pls DM me and we can arrange a quote.]

Materials used:

Indian Ink, Bideford Black, Seawater, Rainwater, Postcard, Greyboard, Varnish.
