Cupid was a very common theme in art history, so the artist wanted to make her own representation of this theme. Cupid is represented as a male figure with a rabbit head, symbolizing that now days we fall in and out of love TOO FAST. There are many other symbols, such as a female figure with tears and an arch trying to stop Cupid from taking her loved one away. This figure represents Justice. In the far background, there is a black-and-white painting of Socrates as one of the most famous philosophers.
