Original artwork description:

This collage in relief has an Early American, old colonial feel to it. The central picture within the picture is based on an anonymous portrait of a lady holding a letter, done in the 18th century. The letter has a red wax seal, and either she has received it and is hesitating to open it, or she has written it and has not yet sent it. I cropped her face, because this is a dream image and dreams seldom give us as much information as we might want. The wallpaper is a blue gray brocade. The cabinet below the portrait holds two candles and a teapot (symbols of togetherness), and some fabric juts out from one of the drawers. We get a glimpse of red room to the far right, which has a wood veneer floor. The picture is double matted and the outside dimensions for framing are 27 1/8" x 22 7/8"

Materials used:

Paper, brocade paper, wood veneer
