The song “Let's See Action” by The Who was playing in the studio whilst I was finishing this painting. It seemed appropriate, as this style of painting is usually called "Action Painting" and was first done by artists such as Jackson Pollock. It was painted at the start of the second lockdown in the UK, when we all needed to see some action.
It is a dynamic work, and despite the use of only black, white, grey and a blue grey it is full of colour and energy. It would look great in a modern apartment or designer home.
It is painted on birch plywood and is not ready to hang
Acrylic paint brushed over canvas for the background. Additional paint added directly to the canvas by a variety of methods.
