I painted this artwork in the open air in the old Russian town of Gorokhovets. It was a hot summer afternoon, I hid under a large lilac bush and enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of this place. Two women were slowly walking down the street and I made up a story about them, as if they were going to lunch.
