Painted from life, from flowers gathered and arranged by the artist. Features two Sunflowers, a larger and a smaller, the tips of whose petals touch as if they were holding hands. The larger Sunflower has a bumble bee on it. The Sunflowers are surrounded by an assortment of autumn flowers including red and peach dahlias, orange and pink zinnias, burgundy celosia, and golden marigolds. The petals of the flowers have been accentuated by the use of palette knife to shape thickly applied paint. Painted in oil on canvas. With 1.5" thick stretched canvas, the painting continues onto the sides for a "gallery wrap" look that requires no frame and is ready to hang. A cheering, heartwarming, and lively piece.
